Missions
We are commanded in God's Word to go and “teach all nations.”  This is one of the greatest commandments of all because that was Jesus' last word to His disciples before He ascended up into heaven.

There is something about the last word an individual speaks before he or she dies. Everyone is always curious to know what was that one important word that was spoken by the individual. This explains why people stay at the bed side of a dying individual to hear that last word.  It is not that important words were not spoken before the individual departed this life, but the last word spoken by an individual seems to be the most life-changing and admonishing.

We know that Jesus is not dead; we do know that the spirit has transformed him.  The transition from one world to the next seems to be a significant event.

The great commission given by Jesus Christ "to go and teach all nations" must not be taken lightly.  This commission was very important to Jesus and that is the reason He saved it until last.  We are all accustomed to the popular saying “save the best for last.”

We are God's best that is why He has chosen us to fulfill His greatest commission.  As Christians, we do not have time to become lackadaisical, but it is high time to get busy for God.  Too many lives are being destroyed while we sit on the seat of “do-nothing”.;  It is time we rise up like a lion for the service of the Lord.  It is time we get aggressive like a hungry lion after its prey.  Yes, we need to get hungry for souls.  We need to pray that God will give us a great hunger and thirst after souls that like a lion, we will travel near or far, above or beneath to get that prey.

The commission to “go into the world” should be the anthem of every born again Christian.  I  know the Lord is still saying today, “Go!”.  The ultimate question is,  what is preventing us from going  to India or Africa? Some people would say, “I don't have the money or the time.”  Yes, it is agreeable that not everyone will be able to cough up several thousands dollars to take a trip to Africa or India, but what about donating some of what you have to those who have the will to go?  Enabling the message to be preached around the world is the same as if you had been around the world yourself! Yes, everyone will not be able to go physically, but most of us can help someone to go, thus going spiritually.

Durst Avenue Church of God takes this commission seriously. We believe that we are the ones that the Lord is depending upon to reap the end-time harvest of souls.  Our church supports several outreaches such as “Wings of Eagle” to help bring the Jews back to Israel and other missions to spread the good news of the saving knowledge of Jesus around the world.  Why don't you pray today that God will enable you to keep His last words-His commission to “Go..”
